MOTVARJEVCI BIOGAS PLANT

The Motvarjevci biogas plant uses chicken manure and manure water from the farms at Motvarjevci and Jezera and green biomass to produce biogas. The nominal electrical power of the plant is 0.83 MW. The annual production of electrical power totals 6.8, and 7.8 GWh of heat are produced per annum. The CO2 emission saving is 3,000 tonnes per annum. The Motvarjevci biogas plant completes the entire natural cycle from the Department to processing, animal farming, food and biogas back to the Department.

User: Panvita Ekoteh d.o.o.
Department: Environment and Energy
Period: 2007-2009
Short introduction: Nominal electrical power of the plant: 0.83 MW
Achievements of the project: Thanks to the advanced concept of mixing technique and substrate introduction, the process is very stable and enables the plant to clock in at over 8,200 operating hours per annum. The digestate as organic fertilizer is of higher quality after anaerobic digestion – more of available nitrogen but less of unpleasant smell emission when fertilising as well less need for mineral fertilisers.
