NEMŠČAK BIOGAS PLANT

The Nemščak biogas plant uses pig manure water, category II and III animal by-products (ABP) and green biomass to produce biogas. Before introduction into the biogas plant, ABP are thermally processed through sterilisation and hygienisation procedures, while waste air from the process is cleaned using chemical purification and UV oxidation. The heat energy from cogeneration is used to cover all heating requirements of the plant itself and of the entire Nemščak farm. The plant’s electric power is 1.46 MW. Annual production of electric power is 10 GWh, and it generates 11 GWh of heat. The CO2 emission saving is 9,000 tonnes per year. The Nemščak biogas plant completes the entire natural cycle from the Department to processing, animal farming, food and biogas back to the Department.

User: Panvita Ekoteh d.o.o.
Department: Environment and Energy
Period: 2006-2008
Short introduction: Nominal electrical power of the plant: 1.46 MW
Achievements of the project: By integrating the ABP (animal by-product) processing system, we managed to extend the traditional concept of a biogas plant.
